The Natural Iron Stag Fireback shows a proud 12-point stag with a foreground of grass and a background of trees and sky. This striking fireback adds beauty and protection to your fireplace. A fireback will protect the rear masonry of your fireplace from the intense heat of the fire and increase the efficiency of your fireplace by reflecting some of the heat that is normally lost back into your room. Your fireback should be large enough to protect the area of the rear wall directly behind the fire, but should not extend into the flue opening where it could choke off the draft or interfere with the damper. An area of 4 to 15-inches can be left on either side of the fireback. We also offer fireback supports to hold your fireback in place.
